Short Description:

As one of the "Inter-University Exchange Project" promoted by MEXT, Campus Asia is an educational project conducted jointly by universities in Japan, China and Korea. This CAMPUS Asia EEST (Energy and Environmental Science and Technology) program at Chikushi campus has formed a consortium with Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Pusan National University, focusing on training advanced researchers and engineers who have the ability to develop applications, solve problems, and can play an active role globally in the fields of EEST. This program has established a EEST course to award double degrees in two of the three partner universities within a normal enrollment period with one master thesis written in English. The course consists of a “three in one” module, namely combining one semester exchange, two summer schools, and several international seminars together. A total of 171 students has been awarded Master’s double degree in modes 1 and 2 among three universities.

From 2021, we have launched mode 3 and expanded our project to ASEAN by adding a new partner, University of Technology Malaysia. As an upgrade of CAMPUS Asia EEST, this CAMPUS Asia Plus program is conducted jointly by four universities and will be a platform of higher education in the field of science and technology embracing the diversity of Asia for cultivating advanced global talents in EEST field. We also promote research internships of PhD students and further active international research and education aiming for producing doctoral double degree graduates.
