Career Summary:

Nuren Abedin is a Transport researcher working at the Faculty of Information Science and Electrical Engineering (ISEE) of Kyushu University and also a post doctoral fellow at the Institute for Asian and Oceanian Studies(Q-AOS). She was born in Dhaka, Bangladesh and came to Japan in 2008 to pursue her undergraduate studies at the College of Inbternational Management of Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University. After graduating from APU, she worked for a major Japanese retailing company Aeon Kyushu Co. Ltd. Nuren entered Kyushu University Graduate School of Information Science and Electrical Engineering in 2016, where she started her research work on role of transportation in obtaining gender equality and obtained her PhD from the ISEE in 2021. She has also worked as a Research Fellow at the Kyushu University Yunus & Shiiki Social Business Research Center Prior to joining ISEE and Q-AOS.

Research:

Her research primarily focus is on the dynamics of community mobility, the intricacies of transportation, health and wellbeing. Additionally, her research extends into the realms of digital healthcare, social entrepreneurship, and the methodologies for measuring and managing impact.
