Abstract
In this talk I will explain about the activities by the Grant Support Group in acquiring research funds. In particular, I will introduce two activities that are related to promoting interdicplinary research, namely Online Poster Session and Chit-chat cafe. The online poster session is held twice a year based on a certain theme. It lasts one week with one speaker for each day, presenting his/her research and then discussing with attendants. The chit-chat cafe is held twice a month during lunchtime, where a researcher presents his/her research followed by interaction with attendants, but in a relaxed atmosphere and not only about research, but a variety of topics. I will also introduce some succesful case studies of interdisciplinary research as a result of matching of these events.
