Her research focuses on improving health disparities for women and children in global health. She was the main researcher of the "Ghana EMBRACE Implementation Study," which aimed to realize the EMBRACE Model (a maternal and child continuum of care model) proposed in Japan's new international health policy. The results of this study later contributed to the development of Ghana's first maternal and child health handbook.
She is currently developing a regional model for maternal and child telehealth system using clinical pathways in areas with limited medical resources, and evaluating its effectiveness at a study site in Bangladesh. In addition, she is a principal investigator of the Japan-based People's Voice Survey in collaborated with the U.S. QuEST Center.
