Q-AOS × FS Headquarters × Faculty of Design: Launching a New Course Using BBS Lecture Videos and an AI recommendation system!
Q-AOS, in collaboration with the Headquarters for Future Society Design (FS Headquarters) and the Platform for Integrated Knowledge and Future Education Design at the Faculty of Design, will offer an upper-division general education course titled “Social Inclusion and Design B” in the Summer Term of AY2026, utilizing lecture videos from the Brown Bag Seminar (BBS) series and an AI recommendation system. In this course, social inclusion is reframed not as a matter of ideals or goodwill, but as a “structure” shaped by the design of institutions, spaces, language, technologies, and evaluation systems. By also incorporating opportunities to participate in BBS sessions, the course aims to develop an education model that can be scaled and shared both within and beyond the university. Through viewing BBS videos and participating in seminar sessions, students will engage with diverse research and practice; they will also use the AI recommendation system to discover lectures aligned with their interests, formulate their own questions, and deepen their learning through producing outputs. ▶Faculty of Arts and Science Website ▶Social Inclusion and Design B【PDF】
