We are pleased to share information about the Fukuoka Prize 2026.
The award is organized by Fukuoka City (The Fukuoka Prize Committee) and aims to recognize individuals or organizations that have made outstanding contributions to the preservation and creation of Asia's unique and diverse cultures. It seeks to promote an understanding of the value of Asian cultures, contribute to their preservation and development, and foster a foundation for broad-based exchange and mutual learning among people across Asia.
The Kyushu University Institute for Asian and Oceanian Studies (Q-AOS), in collaboration with Fukuoka City, hosts the Fukuoka Prize Laureates Lecture Series every November. (Please click here for information on this year's lecture.)
Going forward, Q-AOS will continue to support the development and promotion of the Fukuoka Prize, and as a platform for the Asia-Oceania region, contribute to solving social issues through comprehensive knowledge spanning the humanities and social sciences, life and natural sciences, and arts and engineering.
