Announcement of Mr. Kazuhiko IMAMURA’s Appointment as a Visiting Scholar

Kyushu University Institute for Asian and Oceanian Studies (Q-AOS) is pleased to announce that Mr. Kazuhiko IMAMURA, Vice President of the Fukuoka Veterinary Medical Association, will join Q-AOS as a Visiting Scholar from April 2026.

Mr. IMAMURA has long been engaged in promoting and implementing One Health in Fukuoka Prefecture. He has contributed to bridging the One Health concept—which recognizes the close interconnection among human health, animal health, and environmental conservation—across diverse sectors, including public administration, veterinary medicine, education, civic engagement, and international collaboration. He also servesd as Deputy Director of the Federation of Asian Veterinary Associations (FAVA) One Health Fukuoka Office, contributing to the advancement of One Health collaboration across Asia.

At Q-AOS, Mr. IMAMURA is expected to collaborate on research, education, and social implementation activities related to One Health. Drawing on his extensive practical experience in Fukuoka Prefecture, he will help strengthen collaboration among local governments, professional organizations, universities, communities, and partner institutions in the Asia-Oceania region, thereby contributing to the development of transdisciplinary research and educational activities.

With Mr. IMAMURA’s rich practical expertise, broad domestic and international networks, and deep knowledge of One Health implementation, Q-AOS looks forward to further advancing its One Health-related research and education activities.

Through this collaboration with Mr. IMAMURA, Q-AOS will continue to promote the academic development and social application of One Health in the Asia-Oceania region.
