On July 12, 2025, Prof Tanaka give a talk at the International Symposium on OECM at National Taiwan University (NTU). NTU is a strategic partnership university of Kyushu University. This symposium will be the third international symposium following the one held at Kyushu University in 2023, which was organized by Prof Tanaka. The second symposium was held at Seoul National University (SNU) in 2024. This time, in addition to Kyushu University, NTU, and SNU, participants will include the University of Tokyo, Keio University, and National Tsing Hua University in Taiwan. Discussions will focus on the 2030 targets of the Convention on Biological Diversity, OECM, and the 30 by 30 initiative.
