We are pleased to announce the winners of the 35th Fukuoka Prize for 2025.
The award is organized by Fukuoka City (The Fukuoka Prize Committee) and aims to recognize individuals or organizations that have made outstanding contributions to the preservation and creation of Asia's unique and diverse cultures. It seeks to promote an understanding of the value of Asian cultures, contribute to their preservation and development, and foster a foundation for broad-based exchange and mutual learning among people across Asia.
The Grand Prize winner, Mr. Kurayoshi Takara, received his doctorate (literature) from Kyushu University in 1992.

In addition, Kyushu University Institute for Asian and Oceanian Studies (Q-AOS) holds a lecture series featuring past winners of the Fukuoka Prize in collaboration with Fukuoka City every November. Going forward, Q-AOS will continue to support the development and promotion of the Fukuoka Prize, and as a platform for the Asia-Oceania region, contribute to solving social issues through comprehensive knowledge spanning the humanities and social sciences, life and natural sciences, and arts and engineering.
