Q-AOS Brown Bag Seminar Series The 246th Seminar “Development and Social Implementation of a Large-Scale Real-World Data Platform Integrating Healthcare, Long-Term Care, Public Health, and Administrative Data (LIFE Study)”
The Q-AOS Brown Bag Seminar Series will start every Wednesday at lunchtime from April 2021. The purpose of this webinar series is to provide opportunities not only to learn research related to SDGs in Asian and Oceanian regions, but also to expand your research network across different academic areas.

Abstract
With the advancement of digital transformation in healthcare, the secondary use of public databases and data held by local governments is increasingly expected to improve the quality of prevention, public health, healthcare, long-term care, and welfare services. However, local governments, which should play a central coordinating role, have not yet established an integrated framework for implementation and evaluation covering the entire process—from (1) identifying target residents, (2) reaching them through relevant programs, and (3) connecting them to appropriate services, to (4) assessing outcomes such as disease onset, disease progression, the development of long-term care needs, and death. This is partly because data are dispersed across different administrative departments, no common identifier is available for data linkage, and stringent requirements for protecting personal information must be met. To address these challenges, we launched the LIFE Study, a project that integrates these data at the individual level and follows participants for 20 years. In this presentation, we describe the development process and overall framework of the LIFE Study and discuss future directions for its implementation in society.
