Abstract
My area of expertise is experimental research in particle physics using state-of-the-art particle accelerators. State-of-the-art particle accelerators are so-called big science that requires an extremely large amount of money (hundreds of billions of yen), so accountability was particularly required. Since I arrived at Kyushu University in 2011, I have been holding science cafes in the Tenjin area about once a month. Through these experiences, we recognized the necessity and importance of social co-creation, and in 2020, we established a new Science Communication Promotion Group within the University's Social Collaboration Promotion Office. At the seminar, we will share the current situation and challenges of social co-creation at Kyushu University. I hope that this presentation will serve as an opportunity for people in various positions within the university to think about how universities should co-create society.
