Abstract
Amid the global public health emergency caused by COVID-19, the "unequal access to vaccines" in the world was a serious issue. In response, international organizations and some countries had the initiative to establish "COVAX (COVID-19 Vaccine Global Access)". COVAX is an international framework for multiple countries to jointly purchase COVID-19 vaccines and distribute them fairly, including to low- and middle-income countries. Looking back at what COVAX is, its achievements, and the challenges it faces, we will consider what responses will be necessary for future public health emergency response.
