Abstract
In Japan, it is said that one in two people will develop some form of cancer in their lifetime. However, with advancements in diagnostic methods and treatments, cancer has increasingly become a disease that can be cured if detected and treated early. Early detection and treatment of cancer require technologies that can sensitively identify cancer and target it specifically for treatment.
The speaker has been working on the development of cancer diagnostics and therapeutics using chemical materials such as carbon nanotubes, DNA aptamers, and polymers. In this seminar, the speaker will introduce part of our research aimed at contributing to cancer treatment from the perspectives of chemistry and engineering.
