Abstract
To achieve a safe and comfortable outdoor environment in urban areas, it is indispensable to understand the fluid dynamics affected by the interaction between urban surfaces and the surrounding air. A favorable environment can be established when winds are accurately measured, predicted, and evaluated within the built environment. This talk will cover recent trends in wind engineering studies for the built environment, based on experiments and numerical predictions, aiming to capture the invisible wind in urban areas.
