Q-AOS Brown Bag Seminar Series The 125th Seminar “Taste and health”
The Q-AOS Brown Bag Seminar Series are held every Wednesday lunch time from April 2021. The purpose of this webinar series is to provide opportunities not only to learn research related with SDGs in Asian and Oceanian regions and but also to expand your research network in different academic areas. The webinar is free, available in English and Japanese, and open to everyone! We hope you all come and join us!

Abstract
Research on taste perception and transmission is developing dynamically in line with recent developments in molecular biology, and many mysteries on taste are rapidly being unraveled. In this presentation, I will outline the general characteristics of taste (molecular mechanisms of the reception and transmission) and its physiological role, and also present the causes of "taste disorders" affecting the quality of life and disrupt the nutritional balance along with our research to date.
