While society and industry are focusing their attention on short-term goals to achieve the SDGs, academia is actively reevaluating sustainability from multiple perspectives in anticipation of the Post SDGs. To date, indicators that complement GDP, such as the United Nations Inclusive Wealth Index, have been developed to assess sustainability at the national and municipal levels, while at the corporate level, ESG indicators that assess the environmental, social, and governance activities of companies have been actively developed. However, sustainability assessment at the level of product and services that support society has not yet progressed sufficiently, and there is a need to develop ESG assessment throughout the supply chain. In this BBS, I will mainly discuss the current status and challenges of sustainability assessment at the corporate level and at the product and service level.
