Event Report

  On Wednesday, January 7, 2026, Kyushu University Institute for Asian and Oceanian Studies (Q-AOS) hosted the Kyushu University Forum “KYUDAI NOW” at Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad (IITH), India.

  The forum aimed to highlight the latest research and educational initiatives between Kyushu University and IITH across a wide range of disciplines—including engineering (AI, IT and Physics), chemistry, and biotechnology. The forum was open to a broad local audience comprising Kyushu University alumni, students, faculty members, and the general public. Notably, this event marked the first KYUDAI NOW Forum in India, representing an important milestone in Kyushu University’s international academic collaboration.

  A total of 10 faculty members from both universities presented their cutting-edge research to 135 participants. The opening remarks were delivered by Professor Shuji Shimizu, Vice President of Kyushu University; Professor BS Murty, Director of IITH. The program included oral research presentations, a poster session by students, and an introductory session by the Kyushu University Open Innovation Platform (OIP). The forum concluded with a talk by Assistant Professor Harsha Prakash, who shared her life experiences at Kyushu University, followed by closing remarks from Dr. Jitendra Sundaray, Head of the Division of Fish Genetics & Biotechnology ICAR-Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture, Bhubaneswar, India.
