The 8th and 9th Asian Natural Products Conference – Building Cooperative Bridges for Sustainable Use of Natural Resources in Asia and Oceania Countries
As one of the initiatives of the Kyushu University Asia Week, Functional Natural Products Module in Resource Recycling Cluster held the 8th and 9th Asian Natural Products Conference on October 15 and 18, 2021, under the theme of “Building Cooperative Bridges for Sustainable Use of Natural Resources in Asia and Oceania.
In the 8th International Asian Natural Products Conference, six researchers from six countries, including the USA, Spain, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, and Japan, presented various topics, including metabolomics, organic synthesis, and natural products chemistry. Presenters have actively discussed the application of LC-QTOF/MS（Liquid chromatograph Quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometer） in suspect and non-target screening of contaminants in seawater, natural compounds in photodynamic and sonodynamic therapy for food applications, as well as the synthesis of antitubercular lead compounds. Moreover, they explained the potentials of bioactive natural compounds in the treatment of various diseases and the impact of pulsed electric fields (PEF) as an efficient technique for the extraction of microalgae.
In he 9th International Asian Natural Products Conference, seven researchers from six countries, including Brazil, China, Vietnam, Thailand, Nepal, and Japan, presented about natural products chemistry. The presenters have explained the application of fungal metabolites in the treatment of non-communicable diseases, plant-based metabolites with inhibitory activity against soluble epoxide hydrolase, and biopesticide research development. Additionally, they explained the gut microbiome of Asians associated with diets and health, as well as the impact of bioactive natural compounds in the treatment of pulmonary fibrosis and other diseases.
