At the 3rd International Conference on Healthcare, SDGs, and Social Business on November 19th-21st, 2019, the Medical and Health Cluster members in Kyushu University Institute for Asian and Oceanian Studies (Q-AOS) presented at sessions together with invited speakers at Kyushu University Hospital Campus, the Centennial Hall. On the first day of the international conference, Mr. Dong Lu, founder and CEO of Nihon Bishoku Co., Ltd. was invited to give a lecture on business development that combined smartphone payment and prepaid reservation service to solve social needs between inbound tourists and Japan's merchants. On the second day of the international conference, Kyushu University TED Session, “Social Technology,” was held. First, Dr. Ashir Ahmed (Faculty of Information Science and Electrical Engineering, Kyushu University) made an introducing presentation of technologies in the Portable Health Clinic (PHC) System with Telemedicine in Bangladesh. Then Dr. Fumihiko Yokota (Institute of Decision Science for a Sustainable Society: IDS3, Kyushu University) presented the example that how these medical technologies can be trusted by community "users" based on their co-working. Following them, Prof. Naoki Nakashima (Medical Information Center: MIC, Kyushu University Hospital) made presentations on the disease management system for lifestyle-related diseases in developing Asian countries with severe doctor shortages. Finally, Dr. Tomohiko Moriyama ( Telemedicine Development Center of Asia, International Medical Department, Kyushu University Hospital) reported their activities on healthcare professionals' telemedicine networks in more than 700 medical facilities in 70 countries. All presenters were members of the Medicine and Health Cluster. On the morning of the third day of this international conference, the cluster leader, Prof. Shuji Shimizu, overviewed research activities of the Medicine and Health Cluster at a special session “Healthcare Innovation for People Who Cannot Achieve Medical and Health Services.” The process and results of PHC projects in respectively Bangladesh, Cambodia, and India were presented by the cluster members, Dr. Raficle Islam (MIC) and Dr. Kimiyo Kikuchi (IDS3), together with Dr. Ahmed and Dr. Yokota. At the end of this conference, Prof. Muhamad Yunus, who is a laureate the Novel Peace Prize in 2006, lectured about AI and social business in Asia and in the world. This conference provided a unique opportunity to share multi-disciplinary knowledge and broaden our academic network in Asian in an area of healthcare, SDGs and Social Business.
