The current pandemic has brought great challenges to communications among international academic communities.
The IMAP at Kyushu University searches for new platforms to connect scholarships and activate new theoretical frameworks for Asian studies. The online symposium/workshop will explore exchanges of people, ideas, and artifacts in Asia during two historical periods, the First (1550-1700) and Second (1840-1945) Global Age. We will revisit a history of continuous interaction, exchange, and transculturation in the fields of visual and material culture. It includes two talks (Jan.21 2022, Feb.18th 2022) and a two-day online symposium (Feb 12-13, 2022).

・Organized by IMAP/IDOC, Kyushu University and Kyushu University Institute for Asian and Oceanian Studies Cultural Variation Cluster
