The IMAP at Kyushu University searches for new platforms to connect scholarships and activate new theoretical frameworks for Asian studies. The online symposium/workshop will explore exchanges of people, ideas, and artifacts in Asia during two historical periods, the First (1550-1700) and Second (1840-1945) Global Age. We will revisit a history of continuous interaction, exchange, and transculturation in the fields of visual and material culture.
