Abstract

Aquatic food production has great potential to supply food and nutrition to the growing world population. Under these circumstances, global aquaculture production continues to increase. For the future, further increases in aquaculture production are expected through various technological innovations. This presentation will introduce the case of fully farmed chub mackere at Kyushu University and other efforts toward sustainable aquatic food production in the future, including the development of new fish breeding technologies and resource-recycling production systems.
