Meanwhile, they can also be used for scientific observations. Fixed-wing drones (so called Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, UAVs) are suitable for missions such as sample-return of aerosols from high altitude which are considered to be one of the sources of global warming and guerrilla downpour, and for aero-magnetic survey for understanding the activity of the Earth. In this seminar, the story of the development of fixed-wing drones for such purposes and the actual observation conducted in Antarctica and Ethiopia will be presented with the small talk about Antarctica and Ethiopia.
