Abstract

Indonesia is the world's largest archipelago country, consisting of 17,504 islands, and is also known as "from Sabang to Merauke." The country has a vast tropical forest on the national land. Consequently, it is also known as a "mega-diversity country" because of its diversity of flora and fauna in the tropical rainforest. Besides, Indonesia has more than 1,300 ethnic groups with diverse cultures, languages, and religions. Thus, "Unity in Diversity (Bhinneka Tunggal Ika)." is the national motto. Kyushu University has academic and student exchange agreements between all faculties with three Indonesian universities. In this seminar, I will talk about the appeal of studying in Indonesia while connecting the past, present, and future of my exchange program at Gadjah Mada University, one of those universities.
