Abstract

In the field of water and marine environment, the sustainability of nature and society has become an issue. In recent years, participatory decision-making by people from diverse positions has been required. In particular, the importance of the "youth" generation is attracting attention, and the way in which they participate meaningfully and the structure of multi-generational collaboration are progressing. The following will focus on the discussions and outcomes of the Fourth Asia-Pacific Water Summit held in Kumamoto in April this year. At this international conference, practice and succession for solving water problems and ensuring sustainability were the central topics of discussion. Understanding the characteristics of Japanese youth from an international perspective will also lead to a revolution in Japanese university education. In this lecture, the process and possibilities of participation in the international arena of youth who will be developed for the practice at the Asia-Pacific Water Summit will be introduced.
