Challenges to Medicine and Health in Aging Asia: Initiatives Toward a Sustainable Society Asia Week Details Date 2021/10/13 ~ 2021/10/14 Outline For this century, Asia has become the center of population aging as it is deemed to face greater challenges posited by demographic shift. This session focuses on challenges associated with medicine, health, and welfare in a rapidly aging Asia. This session was planed to share the latest knowledge on these challenges, and to discuss how these challenges may be addressed, in some selected national contexts, with strategies that are informed by multidisciplinary perspectives including health sciences, public health, social policy, and design. In the event, keynote lectures were held by 4 experts in the field of health care, public health, policy, and design. The online health care for the elderly in Taiwan was very interesting, and there are many things that Japan should learn from them. The session ended on a high note with a lively discussion based on many opinions from the panelists and participants.
