Genetic resource management, development and utilization Mission & Vision of Modules Currently, the loss and decline of biological resources is a serious problem in Asian countries due to rapid climate change, urban development, or lack of technology. In addition, the underdeveloped and unutilized useful biological resources in the diverse environments of these countries contribute to the poverty of these countries. Therefore, the mission of this module is to search for genetic resources of plants, animals, and microorganisms in Asian countries, analyze their diversity, develop technologies to maintain and manage them in collaboration with researchers in those countries, and develop technologies to utilize the useful resources that have been searched. Our vision is that the completion of this mission will further promote the exchange of researchers and students between Kyushu University and the countries concerned, contribute to the sustainable technological and social development of the countries concerned, and deepen the good relationship between Kyushu University, Japan, andAsian countries.
