Vision / Mission
We are studying history of environmental change and history of natural disasters. We are also studying issues regarding cultural properties under various political situations.
Research Output/Outcomes in 2019
At the Kick-off Symposium on July 11, our cluster invited Prof. Li Yingfu of Sichuan University, China. On July 10, Prof. Li Yingfu delivered a talk on the relation of environment and cultural heritage.
On December 23, Prof. Miyamoto was invited to deliver a talk “The extention of rice growing in the New Stone Age of China” at Museum of Fudan University, China. On the same occasion, academic exchange plan was discussed between Kyushu University and Institute of Science Technology and Archeology, Fudan University.
Research Plan of 2020
An international symposium will be held on the relation between climate/ environment changes and cultural heritage, inviting scholars from (i) Institute of Archaeology Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and (ii) Institute of History and Philology, Academia Sinica.
