【Messages of Gratitude】Q-AOS Symposium 2020: “Living with Infectious Diseases: What is a sustainable society after COVID-19 ?”
【A Message of Gratitude from the Director General】
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the speakers, participants, and organizers who made the Q-AOS Symposium 2020 a success, held September 1-11, 2020, to commemorate Kyushu University Asia Week.
Due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s symposium was held in a hybrid format, both online and on-site, which I think helped provide some insights into the subtitle of the symposium, “What is a Sustainable Society After COVID-19?” We welcomed prominent researchers from all over the world, from those at the forefront of industry to Kyushu University’s own students and academic faculty. Presentations covered a truly diverse range of topics, everything from the humanities, social sciences, and design to engineering, agriculture, and medicine.
Thank you again for your participation in this year’s symposium and for your continued support of Q-AOS.

【A Message of Gratitude from the Planning Director】
Thank you for participating in the Kyushu University Institute for Asian and Oceanian Studies (Q-AOS) Symposium 2020 “Living with Infectious Diseases: What is a sustainable society after COVID-19?” held over two days from September 2nd, 2020.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all of you for your guidance and cooperation for the successful completion of the symposium with the participation of over five hundred people in two days.
In each session, thought-provoking presentations and lively exchange of opinions were held, and I believe that it was a fruitful symposium not only for us, but also for everyone who participated.
At this symposium, due to the influence of COVID-19, we challenged to hold a hybrid style with both online and local systems, and we would like to take this opportunity to apologize for any inconvenience caused.
I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to everyone for their health and happiness.
We appreciate your continuous understanding and cooperation in the activities of Q-AOS.
